ABOUT CYGNET COMMUNICATIONS
Cygnet Communications has been in business more than 25 years. From the beginning, our eye (actually, we have two) has always been on the prize: the client’s satisfaction. If you're not satisfied, we're not satisfied. That’s why we don’t charge for rewrites. We aim to get it right the first time, and we almost always do, but if we don’t, we’ll fix it for free. We’re proud to say that many of our clients have been with us for 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years, so we must be doing something right.
How We Work with Clients
We start by asking a lot of questions: What type of project is this? What do we want to accomplish? Who is our audience? How much time do we have? And so on. (Since we’re in this together, we’re one big “we.”) Generally, we like to see some material or something that will give us an idea of the scope of the project before we give a quote or estimate the time it will take.
How We Charge
As for fees, we can work on almost any basis: hourly rate, daily rate, per word, project fee, or another mutually satisfactory arrangement. If you have a specific budget for a project, you should let us know that so we can tailor what we can do to what you can pay. Estimating the cost of projects is often difficult, but since most clients would like at least a ballpark figure, we often say, "It will cost at least X, but no more than Y." And we stick to that even if we’ve grossly underestimated our fee. (We’ve even been known to charge clients less than our estimate if we've overestimated.) All in all, we want to give you fabulous work at a price that is fair to both of us.
What We Add to the Mix
With Cygnet, you get a writer who thinks. If something doesn't make sense, we question it. If figures on a chart don't add up, we bring it to your attention. If facts seem erroneous, we verify. And we pride ourselves on having an excellent grasp of grammar, spelling, and construction. Cygnet gives you a double dip: we also edit and proofread, so our writing projects benefit from those skills too.
